A few minutes later, Headington had strong claims for a penalty waved away by the referee.
Didcot went ahead on 35 minutes. A well worked move ended with James Pearson netting his 13th goal in nine games this season and it was enough to send them in ahead at the break.
A huge 45 minutes were ahead for Didcot and they made the perfect start to the second half when Fred Copping rounded the goalkeeper to double the lead two minutes after the restart.
Fin Coles was forced into another good save just past the hour, as Headington looked for a way back into the tie.
Ollie Tyler came off the bench to make his debut for the Devs having enjoyed a good start to the season with the Youth Devs and he almost made it three in the closing minutes but he couldn't keep his header on target.
The full-time whistle soon followed, as the development team brought the curtain down on their home fixtures in 2024.
